A FEW WORDS ABOUT US

WE ARE A UNIQUE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT HELPS PEOPLE DEVELOP COMPETENCIES FOR ADDICTIONS TREATMENT

Daystar Education, Inc. was born in 1984 with a workshop and many in-services at Oregon treatment programs. At that point the State provided training that met certification requirements. As the State training program devolved, community colleges and organizations like Daystar began to fill the void. In addition to the Core classes for Certification, Daystar offers over twenty other Elective/Continuing Education Courses.

The mission of Daystar Education, Inc. is to provide quality education for people who are working with substance abusing clients. The information and skills developed as a result of Daystar courses promote competence in the field. Daystar provides the necessary and qualifying education to meet the educational requirements for ACCBO certification.

Daystar’s trainers are people who are experienced clinicians with expertise in specific content areas from the Northwest. Some teach at colleges and universities, others work for various agencies and/or as independent contractors. We thrive on repeat business, and counselors have said they take all their education hours here, because they know they will have a valuable experience.
